Disclaimer: Beginning Fall 2020, no additional students will be accepted into the Regents Scholars Program. Those interested in the academic experience provided by the Regents Scholars Program should apply to the Honors College (www.tamuc.edu/honors).
Expectations
To maintain the Regents’ Scholars scholarship, a student must earn a 3.3 GPA each semester. Students must be enrolled full-time at the University. Regents’ Scholars Program students must live on campus their first and second years as a part of a living-learning community created around the program. Students wishing to live on campus in subsequent years will be grouped together in student housing to keep the community together.
Housing options for the Regents community are the Phase II and New Pride residence halls. Phase II is a traditional residence hall built in 2013. The RSP community resides on the second floor and students share a private, two bedroom suite with their selected roommate. More about Phase II here. In the last two years of the program, students move to reserved apartments in New Pride which include both quad and double apartments. More about the layout and amenities here.
All Regents’ Scholars Students students must sign and abide by Regents' Scholars acceptance agreement and code of conduct. In recognition of the University's investment in their education, Regents Scholars must contribute to the intellectual, social, and cultural life of the campus and Commerce communities through campus and community service.
Finally, Regents' Scholars must complete the RSP (Regents’ Scholars Program) academic program which includes specific core curriculum (University Studies), upper-division and leadership courses.
